Hand, Eye, Mind: An Exhibit of Children’s Art
This exhibit of children’s art was organized in collaboration with faculty of the Early Childhood Development Program. All works of art on display were produced by children enrolled in that program.
The exhibit was organized according to the developmental stages through which most children pass as they acquire greater perceptual, intellectual, and neuromuscular capacities. Even as these early stages, however, the exhibit demonstrated that children have a great deal of natural artistry.
Under my supervision, Chabot College students enrolled in the Gallery Techniques course conceived of the exhibit layout, collectively hand-built the playful artificial trees marking the entrance to the exhibit, and installed the exhibit.
