John Komisar Retrospective
John Komisar, a long time painting and drawing instructor at Chabot College, retired in the spring of 2013. To recap his many years of artistic achievement, the gallery held a retrospective of his work. Many of John’s works lacked frames, but we were able to solve this problem by presenting the largest of his works on painting easels, borrowed from the painting studio next door. This created a nice ambiance, and a more dynamic exhibit given that all the works were two dimensional. Many years of sketchbooks were laid out on the counter for close-up viewing.
