On this page you will find the following instruction, screenshots, and links to videos that walk through each section.
FIRST two pdfs. The first consists of instructions for elumen and specific sections. This is an overview over key issues and comments on specific sections. A good amount of this material is covered in the videos, but text on it can be cut and pasted into your outline. You will want to keep this on hand when revising. Refer to it along side the second pdf of screen shots of the different steps/sections and fields in elumen. Both should open in a new tab. Both can be downloaded, which you might find convenient.
PDF of Instructions (9 pages)
PDF of Screen Shots (33 pages)
About the screen shots pdf:
Note that the formatting in pdf format may not exactly duplicate the appearance of elumen pages in your browser. But, it’s close enough that you should be able to figure it out. If you have suggestions for further edits, etc., let me know.
Also, note that some pdfs appear larger, and some smaller. To see those in which the text appears small, zoom in (or out).
If you download the screen shot pdf: It is “locked” and password protected. I’ve done this so that users won’t make changes to the original and accidentally follow incorrect information on a saved version.
If by chance you modify the formatting of the downloaded document, you should be notified when closing it. On a mac, a dialog box will appear telling you the document cannot be changed and a duplicate has been made. To get back to the original, close out the original. A dialog box will appear asking you if you want to save or delete the duplicate. Select delete. The original will close. When you open the original again with the password, all the initial and proper formatting will be in place.
SECOND a list of web pages each of which include a short video explaining a specific section. These are department specific. I advise watching all before you begin the process. Familiarize yourself with all the parts of the elumen and the information needed. It might seems like a great deal, but once you understand what is needed in advance, and where forethought is required, then the challenging parts are manageable.
The size of the video video player on each page appear rather small. To make them larger, so as to see specific information, click on the button on the player with the four diagonal arrows expanding outwards. Each page should open in a new tab.
